Super Samurai Robots part 1

Super Samurai Robots is a casual game of robot dueling in the far future. Players take the role of advanced android combatants in one on one duels, team combats, and staged scenario missions. Testing their mettle against one another and hordes of faceless ninjabots; the Super Samurai Robots seek to climb the leaderboard and win honor for their creators.

Base Asumptions

SSR uses the Savage Worlds game as an engine, and additional content from the Super Powers Companion. All credit to the creators of these wonderful products.

The term Design Points (DP) will be used throughout instead of Power Pints from the SPC.

SSR is set thousands of years in the future where a global post scarcity society has created a replacement for the ancient bloodsports the humanity dearly loves. Each robot is the carefully crafted design of amazing power and ability. Design teams vie with each other to create the fastest, toughest, or most powerful robot within the constraints of their league's rules. Different design classes within each league allow for a variety of participating teams from back alley garages with only a single 'bot to massive corporate teams leveraging their sponsors vast pools of research and cash. Leagues run a series of events of the course of a season with robots earning Victory Points (VP) based on their performance and the nature of the event. At the end of the regular season the league uses VP totals to select the participants in championship battle or finals round to crown that years Robo-Daimyo.

Super Samurai Robot Creation

Follow the basic character creation rules from SW and the SPC with the following modifications:

Race-You may only pick human (currently). This represents the standard modular anthroform chassis.

Hindrances- Do not pick any hindrances. These are killing machines crafted from hypersteel and psychotronic crystal not well rounded flesh and blood.

Gear- Do not pick gear. Equipment your robot can carry is represented by using the Device power modifier.

Edges- All robots receive the Arcane Background (Samurai Robot) that allows them to access their powers and may not take other ABs. Robots may not select social or weird edges. Since samurai robots do not have a Rank those restrictions on edge selection may be ignored. Thought should be given to edge selection, focusing on utility in play.

Powers- Buy powers using DPs based on the design class of the robot

             Class        DP
             Warrior    10
             Hero         15
             Master      20
             Shogun     25

The following powers are disallowed: ageless, animal control, headquarters, healing, invent, minions, regeneration, storm, super sorcery, undead, and vehicle. The power Construct is renamed to Reinforced and the Device modifier represents equipment that the robot caries as opposed to built in machinery; powers with the device modifier can be stolen and used. Powers such as fear and decay can be used with trappings like nanobots or hacking.

Some leagues may allow the reallocation of all or part of the robots DPs between events.
