Sufficiently Advanced...

Does teleport violate lightspeed? Specifically is it instantaneous or only "effectively instantaneous"? I know this is unnecessary in most people's D&D games, after all the other side of a planet would only be about .042 seconds away (assuming an earthlike size). Even a jaunt to the Moon (1.23 sec) would fall within one round. Interplanetary distances begin to stack up into minutes though and interstellar distances pile on years. So some questions for you:

  1. Does teleport violate lightspeed?
  2. What about scrying, sending, and telepathy?
  3. How about wish? The book gives time travel as a possible effect.
  4. Do physics in your world differ enough that these questions wouldn't matter?
  5. If so does the physics differ enough for a player to notice? Have they? How did they react?
  6. How large is your Prime Material Plane? Is there more than one? How many?
  7. If you run published settings do they share a prime? 
My thoughts so far:
  1. No.
  2. No.
  3. Yes.
  4. No/Yes. The physics in Ovos is obviously a little wonky, but I run most other settings pretty straight.
  5. No/Yes. See above, but they haven't said anything yet.
  6. Infinite. Yes. An infinite amount.
  7. Yes. For me all settings share the same Prime Material Plane .
So for me the spells work fine in normal play but display interesting interactions with broader play. Using gate or plane shift to side step the light speed barrier is generally preferred, since although teleporting from Toril to Oerth is within the power of the spell the actual trip takes a long time (the traveler, like a photon does not have an experience of duration). Similarly scry gives you historical information and communications through sending and telepathy would behave more like radio with conversations being virtually impossible. Wish will take you just about anywhere anywhen unless being opposed by greater powers.

Super Samurai Robots - Ninjas!

Moto Shogun Robotto uses ninja-bots throughout many events in each season. Each year the league's engineers seek to improve on these mechanical assassins as well as designing new and unique challenges. The Ninja-bots have their own following with many fans and a profitable merchandise line.

Ninja
The basic ninja mook individually weak but employed in large numbers.

Ovos - Description

Ovos year 0 NS

     As you emerge from the cleft in the earth you shield your eyes from the brightest light they have experienced in months. As your vision clears you find yourself partway up a rolling hill covered with low scrub and clumps of hardy grass. At the foot of the hill a small stream meanders through a growth of young trees and brambles. Beyond the trees another hill rises, and another until they fade into a bright green forest. The leafy mounds of foliage undulate like the waves of a vast sea and as you look farther the forest seems to rear up like a great wave as it fades into the distance. You see a lake as only the eagles have until now, bright light glinting of its wind driven surface.  Where the land begins to curve beyond vertical it finally merges into a sky as blue as lapis lazuli framing a sun blazing like an emerald. As you turn full circle you take in this new world: a great bowl spangled with rivers and seas, hills and mountains,  plains and deserts. You stand so long drinking in this new world that the stationary sun above your head fades into a cerulean hue and then darker indigo and finally a somber violet night bathes the land ebbing to a darkness almost black but alive with hints of color.

     The darkness begins to warm and the lakes and rivers glow like blood pumping through a vast brown body. You climb to the crest of the hill as the light grows and reddens. At the summit you see the vast living bowl all around you under the ruby sun. Mountaintops blaze like signal pyres and the great open spaces of seas and deserts look like the fires of the afterworld. You sink to the ground and run your fingers through the  fine soil. The sky becomes like the dawn of your youth and a breeze caries a sent so close to that of the uplands above the family farm you sit stock still hands full of dirt and you know that this is home, home evermore. The sweat running down your face under a golden sun breaks your reverie and you rise. So much to do.

Ovos- The lost year and the Dark Pilgrimage

The Lost Year
   As those who might be saved began the Dark Pilgrimage and slipped below the earth, those who would be lost slipped from history. Under a hotter redder sky they struggled and fought. Among their number were the diviners who had brought back the truth, and they drove those on the surface with mad purpose. All manner of ancient threat and desperate reaver sprung at once. The sun grew. Seas rose and ice flowed drowning land that was fated to burn. Mountains crazed and cracked, their roots exposed to the light. The sky howled as it bred great storms and fanned great fires. The sun grew. The races made good on their pacts with the divine. The divine made good on their pacts with the races. The sun grew. The world became a ball of flame; twin to the red bloated sun. The sun grew.

The Dark Pilgrimage
   It was a small portion of the surface peoples that traveled down into the earth once the new sun was born. But still they were many. It was a small portion of the pilgrims who fought through realms the deep peoples bringing them low. But still they were abundant. It was a small portion of the crusaders who survived the terrors of the suns death; that shook the world as even the great work had not. But still they were sufficient. It was a small portion who climbed free to be bathed in the light of the New Sun. But still they were enough.

Super Samurai Robots-Sample robots

Here are a couple Daimyo Class competitors for SSR-MSR.

*Green Master
Well armoured and armed with a devastating Electro-Katana the Green Master was highly successful in the controversial 17th season of MSR. Wading through its opponents many thought the Green Master would take that year's Grand Championship but the size changing Odokuro defeated it in one of the longest championship battles in the league's history.

*Odokuro
Designed to appear skeletal and wielding a diamond tipped spear the Odokuro uses smart materials and nanotechnology to double its size in combat. When the Odokuro faced the Green master for the Grand Championship it was able to use its size to dominate the arena leaving the Green master nowhere to hide.

Ovos-Origins

Half a millennia ago the Sun's face began to crawl with strange signs. The elven arcanists were first to decipher its message of doom. Before the next generation of elves would reach adulthood the star would die in a great conflagration, flinging the ashes of its consumed planets to the deep darks of the Far Realms. Thus began the greatest magical working since the construction of Moonbridge.

Diviners fled forward down the paths of prophecy. The pyre behind them lit many futures; but only one with a light at the other end and races to see it. Speaking with one voice they called to all surface dwellers as the runes on the Sun became comprehensible to all. “ Know now your fate is flames. All that will be again will turn within. All that stands now shall make a way for them. The seed quickened by fire shall be the bridge to new life.” With many voices in secret councils the spoke one plan: to make of their world a vessel to carry their peoples on a voyage through the outer darkness to the warmth of a new star. The next two generations of the short-lived races delved a new arcana while the elves and dwarves built enigmatic artifacts of Magic and Craft. As the sun blazed into its final year the culmination of this Magnum Opus Mundi was at hand.

The world shook. The sun seemed closer and the closest town farther away. Great rifts cleaved the surface of the world that was. A new sun had been born. Within the very bowels of the planet the new arcana had used power of the old to open a pulsing rift of generative energy. Thus was begun the Lost Year and the Dark Pilgrimage.he greatest magical working since the construction of Moonbridge.
